ADSF 2011 Family Day

Dateline: February 19, 2011

As a catholic school, any event that's being participated by the parents and/or other visitors, before opening the program/activity, they always starts with a mass.

The "Our Father" song;

The communion;

I wasn't able to capture Issa's turn as she seems to be hiding and walked fast 'cause she knows that my camera is aimed at her.

Some snaps while waiting for the pre-school presentation;

The pre-school presentation;

Then lunch time came;

Some bingo games;

One of the highlights of the event is the basketball game between the dad's and the school faculty/maintenance/support group. The other is the volleyball between the mom's and school faculty/maintenance/support group also. I didn't sign-up this time to play/coach, as I said to them that I'm going to give chance to other daddy who wishes to do the same role. But I ended up doing the coaching again as requested by some daddy.

We're hungry for revenge this year as we've lost last year's game. But we actually had a 1-1 standing as we already have won last 2009's game. And it seems that luck was on our side again this time as we won by only 1 point. Hahahahaha.

Some snaps;

Complete album.

Issa’s SVI

At last, after having a fever since Saturday night (February 5), her temperature seems to normalize today
after doing round-the-clock medication and causing me to take a leave of absence for 2-consecutive days now.

It started when my wife & I were about to sleep at around 2:00 AM (after having some drinking spree with her two officemates who visited us here) and she did the usual routine of checking Issa on her bed. She noticed that Issa seems to have a slight fever. We immediately gave her a paracetamol and I decided to sleep and stay with her on her bed.

The next day (Sunday), we monitored her temperature and noticed that the lowest and highest reading that we were getting is 38.1 & 39.6 respectively. We were hopeful that that’ll subside till the next morning (Monday) as she also needed to go to school for their scheduled mid-quarter exam. But when we both woke-up, she’s still hot and her temperature was at 38 something. We decided then that she’ll skip her class and we’ll instead go to her other pedia (Dra. Aguinaldo of FEU Hospital) in the morning. (FEU hospital is much closer to our place from her original pedia’s (Dra, De Joya) clinic which is at Mindanao Avenue)

On the way to the hospital clinic, she seems to feel fine and her temperature seems to be normal also. It was also attested by the Doctor’s assistant that Issa seems to have a normal temperature. And alas, her turn to be checked-up. There she was diagnose of having a SVI (Severe? Viral Infection). The Doctor gave another medication and told us to still monitor Issa’s temperature if it will continue to rise-up until this day thus Issa need to go back to the hospital to have a dengue fever routine check-up. Yesterday, the Doctor already gave us the request for the laboratory test Issa needs to do if the situation arises. But gladly when we woke-up this morning her temperature went down 37.8 (at 6:05 AM) & at 35.6 (8:00 AM) from the lowest (38.3) & highest (39.8) temperature reading of the previous night.

Hopefully she fully recovers today so she can attend her school tomorrow and also be able to catch up the lectures she missed and most specially the 4 academic exams her classmates took. And I can eventually return to work as well.

New (collectible) toys

As mentioned here, Issa has a new set of toys. And they're the collectible type ones.

Last Saturday (January 29), we started buying her the Sylvanian Families Beginners House Set

and also the Luxury Four Poster Bed.

The first plan (my real plan) was just to buy the latter initially, and then after some time to buy the former. But as soon as my wife came from her work all the way from Laguna, Issa insisted on going back to Toy Kingdom and showed to her mom the Sylvanian Families set of toys.

We just let her have the 2 set of toys as a reward for the achievement she recently got in her class.

And so far, the amount we shelled-out in buying those items were a little too low from the gift she's longing to have - a Shih Tzu pup. But given a chance (and if it's really appropriate that we can take care of another pup/dog), she can still have a Shih Tzu. And not like the one in this pic;

Back again to Sylvanian collectibles, she still has a request... There's only a single "tenant"in the Beginners House Set so she's requesting us to buy her any family from here. Uh oh! :D

ADSF Foundation & United Nations Day

Dateline: October 17, 2010

This said double celebration event was held at Academia De Sta. Faustina's covered court. As part of the United Nations program presentation, all the grade level students were divided into 4 groups to represent Hawaii, Mexico, Fance & Vietnam countries. Hence the Hawaiian and Mexican dance presentation that's included in this blog.

And of course, as a photographer (hobbyist) father in me, I didn't want to miss this opportunity.

Here's some pics. The Hawaiian group performance;

The Mexican group performance;

Gladly that day, the Quezon City Performing Arts group were invited and performed some dance number. And here's some snaps;

There's also this boy who I managed to capture. Is he a star? Nah!!! He's just an ordinary Grade 5 student that time... c",)

Here's the complete album.
